Reaching Muslims in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

In November 2025, the students of ALMA dedicated their outreach focus to sharing the Gospel with Muslims in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. In the weeks leading up to the mission trip, we prepared ourselves spiritually and mentally through a special “altar week” filled with worship, prayer, and fasting. After that, we spent another week participating in practical training and simulated evangelism exercises.

Testimony from the Mission in Foz do Iguaçu

By Silvana, Daniel, and Jesús

On Monday morning, after spending time in prayer, we began walking toward the local mosque. Within twenty minutes, we encountered the first Muslim person we had ever met in person. She was riding her bicycle along the path, and we were able to start a conversation with her.

She was very kind and even offered to drive us to the mosque in her car. Instead of entering the mosque, we stayed in the car with her and talked about Islam, Muhammad, and Jesus. Throughout the week, we continued praying for her and asking God for another opportunity to meet.

On Friday, we were able to see her again. This time, we shared directly from the Word of God, focusing on the deity of Jesus and explaining how the Old and New Testaments work together to reveal the same message of salvation.

At the end of our conversation, we prayed for her in the name of Jesus. We also gave her an Injil (New Testament) in Portuguese, and she promised to read it and purchase a complete Bible.

Today, we are still in contact with her and have developed a meaningful friendship. We are currently working on a long-distance discipleship process and hope to visit her again soon.
